Genetic Disaster is a cooperative action shooter developed and published by Team8 Studio. It released on PC on December 18, 2017 and is also available on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The aim is simple: pick a character and escape a mad mansion full of enemies.

Each of the game's 12 levels is procedurally generated, so layouts change on every run. Hordes of enemies attack from all sides, and the mansion itself works against you with hazards like burning projectiles, explosive barrels and friendly fire modifiers that can hurt your teammates.

There are four characters, each with special abilities, and more than 75 unusual weapons to find. As you progress, you upgrade your hero with mutations, which are power-ups and abilities looted during runs. Crystals found in chests or dropped by enemies let you activate mutations before each game, so you can build a tank, a berserker or another style.

The game supports one to four players in local couch co-op or online co-op, and difficulty adapts to the number of players. A separate PvP arena mode called Stool Wars pits two to four players against each other with stools, barrels and boosts instead of guns.

The art is hand-painted and the tone is lighthearted. It suits friends looking for a quick, chaotic party shooter that works well on one couch or online. Steam Remote Play Together also lets friends join local sessions over the internet.
