Gamedec is a non-combat cyberpunk isometric RPG developed by Polish studio Anshar Studios and published by Anshar Publishing. It launched on September 16, 2021, and Steam now sells it as Gamedec - Definitive Edition. The setting is Warsaw City in the 22nd century, where technology blurs the line between real and virtual life. You are a Gamedec, a private investigator who works inside virtual game worlds to solve crimes for clients.
Instead of fighting, you talk. You interrogate witnesses and suspects, record facts in your Codex and use Deduction to connect evidence and reach your own conclusion. Inspired by tabletop RPGs, the game lets you approach problems from multiple angles, and it adapts to your choices without judging them. You build your character by gathering aspects and combining professions, and your traits shape how other characters see you. Cases take you from a deceptive farm-like world to dark noir cyberpunk realities and fantasy realms, moving between Realium and Virtualium.
Gamedec suits fans of dialogue-heavy detective RPGs such as Disco Elysium. A Gamedec CD key gives you the Definitive Edition on Steam, and Metacritic lists the PC version at 72.
