Fishing: Barents Sea is a commercial fishing simulation developed and published by Misc Games, released on Steam on February 7, 2018. Built on Unreal Engine 4, it recreates the landscapes of northern Norway and the cold waters of the Barents Sea. You begin with a small boat inherited from your grandfather and work your way up to larger vessels.
Each trip is about planning. You track schools of fish with sonar, radar and GPS, pick the right method for the species, and stay within your yearly quotas. Fish movement is driven by 20 years of weather data and changes with season and water temperature. Back in port you hire crew at the pub, accept missions, repair and upgrade ships, take bank loans and buy bait. Officially licensed Scanmar catch-control systems and the Hermes trawler add realism to the late game.
A Fishing: Barents Sea CD key suits sim fans who enjoy slow, management-heavy gameplay over action. If you want a more casual angling game, also look at Fishing Sim World. More information is on the official Fishing: Barents Sea website.
