Escape Dead Island is a survival mystery action-adventure game developed by Fatshark and published by Deep Silver.

Set between the events of Dead Island and Dead Island 2, the game follows Cliff Calo, the privileged son of a wealthy media mogul. Hoping to make a name for himself, Cliff and his friends travel to the supposedly abandoned island of Narapela to investigate rumors surrounding the zombie outbreak.

Upon arrival, the group discovers that the island hides dangerous secrets connected to the origins of the infection. As Cliff explores abandoned facilities, encounters infected creatures, and uncovers classified experiments, he begins experiencing hallucinations and psychological disturbances that blur the line between reality and imagination.

Unlike the main Dead Island games, Escape Dead Island focuses more heavily on stealth, exploration, storytelling, and psychological themes rather than open-world action. Its distinctive comic book-inspired visual style and narrative-driven approach offer a unique perspective on the Dead Island universe.
