Developed by Frontier Developments, Elite: Dangerous is a living, breathing simulation of our galaxy. With 400 billion star systems to explore, the game offers unparalleled freedom. As of May 2026, the game has evolved significantly with the Operations expansion and the Odyssey update, allowing players to not only fly ships but also walk on planetary surfaces, engage in on-foot combat, and explore the sprawling interiors of massive Megaships. The "Powerplay 2.0" system and "System Colonization" (introduced in 2025) allow players to physically expand the reach of human civilization by building new starports and colonies in deep space.
