Developed by FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, Shadow of the Erdtree is the largest expansion in the studio's history. It introduces an entirely new map, the Land of Shadow, which is seamlessly integrated yet geographically distinct from the Lands Between. Players will encounter formidable new enemies, including the impaler Messmer and other divine beasts, while utilizing eight new weapon categories (such as Great Katanas and Hand-to-Hand arts). The expansion utilizes a unique "Scadutree Blessing" progression system, ensuring that even high-level players from the base game face a fresh and meaningful challenge.
A New Realm: Explore a dense, vertically layered world filled with legacy dungeons, sprawling plains, and hidden caverns that rival the size of the original game's Limgrave and Liurnia.
Deep Narrative: Unravel the mystery of why Miquella traveled to the Land of Shadow and what he stands to gain from the shedding of his flesh and golden lineage.
Expanded Arsenal: Discover over 100 new weapons, including Throwing Daggers, Light Greatswords, and Perfume Bottles, along with new Spells, Incantations, and Spirit Ashes.
Formidable Bosses: Test your mettle against some of FromSoftware’s most challenging and cinematic boss encounters to date.
New Progression System: Collect Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes to bolster your attack and defense specifically within the Land of Shadow.
