In DREDGE, you sell your catch to the locals and complete quests to learn more about each area's troubled past. The game features a unique "grid-based" inventory management system where you must strategically fit fish and equipment into your limited cargo space. As you progress, you can upgrade your vessel with better engines, brighter lights, and specialized rods to reach remote islands like the volcanic Devil's Spine or the icy Pale Reach. In 2025, the game expanded significantly with the The Iron Rig DLC, introducing a massive constructible base, new advanced tech tiers, and ancient disturbances that threaten the entire world of DREDGE.
Cosmic Horror Fishing: Encounter over 125 unique sea creatures, including mutated "aberrations" that only appear under the cover of night.
Exploration & Discovery: Navigate five distinct regions, each with its own ecosystem, hazards, and hidden lore.
Deep Customization: Research and install specialized equipment to improve your ship’s speed, durability, and fishing capabilities.
Sanity Mechanics: Manage your "Panic" levels; the higher your fear, the more the environment hallucinates and turns hostile.
Expansive DLCs: Includes The Pale Reach (an icy biome) and The Iron Rig (industrial base-building and high-tier upgrades).
