Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition is a role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. It first launched on Nintendo Switch on September 27, 2019, then arrived on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 4, 2020.

You play as the Luminary, a young hero branded a criminal for a destiny he did not choose. The journey crosses the world of Erdrea with a party of companions, each with their own story and skill set. Towns, dungeons, and open fields are full of side quests, hidden treasure, and optional bosses to find.

Combat is turn-based, with a party of up to four fighters on the field and Pep Powers that unlock combined attacks. Skill panels let you shape each character, and the Fun-Sized Forge lets you craft and upgrade gear.

The Definitive Edition adds character-focused story scenarios, a full orchestral soundtrack, a retro 2D mode that lets you play in 16-bit style, Japanese voice acting, and a photo mode. It is a single-player game with adjustable difficulty options.

It suits fans of classic JRPGs, newcomers to Dragon Quest, and players who want a long, polished adventure with a clear story and charming character designs by Akira Toriyama.
