Bungie has permanently retired the old four-season annual roadmap model. Under the current structure, the content calendar is split into two massive halves per year. Each half introduces a mid-sized premium expansion, supplemented midway through by a massive, free structural "Major Update" designed to overhaul the core sandbox and refresh the meta.
The game is currently dealing with the fallout of the Renegades expansion, which took a distinct, criminal-underworld spin. This incoming mega-patch is set to introduce a complete, tiered loot overhaul for all legacy Raids and Dungeons alongside the return of Pantheon 2.0.
