Death's Door is an isometric action-adventure developed by the two-person UK studio Acid Nerve and published by Devolver Digital on July 20, 2021. You play a Crow who works a steady job collecting souls for a bureaucratic afterlife office. When your assigned soul is stolen, you follow the thief through the Doors into a realm where nothing has died in ages and its creatures have grown greedy and powerful.
Combat mixes melee weapons, arrows and magic. Mistakes are punished, so fights reward learning enemy patterns and dodging cleanly. You upgrade stats with collected souls, unlock new abilities that open shortcuts and hidden areas, and face colossal bosses who each have their own backstory. The tone is somber but laced with dark comedy, and the interconnected world hides many secrets for completionists.
A Death's Door CD key suits players who like tight, Zelda-style dungeon design with Souls-like stakes. If you enjoyed Hollow Knight, this is a strong pick. The game is also available on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
