Death Squared is a cooperative puzzle game developed and published by SMG Studio. It was released in March 2017 for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, followed by Nintendo Switch in July 2017.

Every level asks you to guide color-coded robots to their matching goal zones. Moving one robot can trigger lasers, spikes or shifting platforms that affect the others, so each puzzle becomes a test of observation, timing and communication.

The story campaign can be played alone or with a partner. Solo players control two robots at once, one with each stick, while two-player sessions turn every level into a conversation about who moves first.

Party Mode supports four players for chaotic group puzzles, and the Vault holds extra-hard levels for experienced teams. The game includes 80 story levels, 40 four-player Party levels and 45 Vault levels, plus 42 new two-player levels added to an Extra Vault in 2025.

The story is fully voice acted, adding humor between puzzles. On PC, Steam Remote Play Together lets friends join local co-op online.

Levels are compact and quick to restart, which keeps frustration low even when a teammate triggers a trap. Mistakes are part of the fun, and the game rewards talking through each move before acting. Full controller support, a keyboard-only option and color alternatives on Steam make it easy to set up for different players.

It suits couples, families and friends looking for a quick-to-learn co-op puzzle game, as well as solo players who enjoy brain-teasers.
