Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the first and only major expansion for CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077, released on PlayStation 5 on September 26, 2023. As a spy-thriller adventure, it drops players back into the role of V for a high-stakes mission involving espionage, political intrigue, and a mission to save the President of the New United States of America. The expansion introduces Dogtown, a new walled-off district within Night City that serves as a lawless enclave controlled by rival factions and mercenaries. Phantom Liberty adds new NPCs, enemies, weapons, cyberware, vehicles with mounted weapons, and raises the level cap to 60, giving returning players fresh progression goals beyond the base campaign.

This expansion was explicitly designed as Cyberpunk 2077's only major DLC, with CD Projekt Red stating that "all the core main systems" of the game were redone or updated in a major way alongside its release . Many of these changes were paired with Update 2.0, a simultaneous free overhaul of the base game covering police AI, vehicle combat, perks, and cyberware systems available to all current-gen and PC players .

Because Phantom Liberty is DLC rather than a standalone title, PS5 players must already own the base Cyberpunk 2077 game to install and play it. It is not available for PlayStation 4, as CD Projekt Red phased out last-gen support to focus development resources on current-gen hardware. Shoppers comparing prices on cdkeycompares.com should confirm a listing is specifically for the Phantom Liberty PS5 expansion and not the base game or a bundle, since retailers price and package these differently.
