City of Gangsters is a management tycoon and strategy game developed by SomaSim and published by Kasedo Games. It launched on PC on August 9, 2021. The year is 1920 and Prohibition has just closed every bar, brewery and distillery in the country. You arrive in the city with nothing but ambition and set out to build the most profitable crime outfit before alcohol becomes legal again in 1933.
The core loop is an economic one. You set up stills, source raw materials, learn recipes for pricier drinks and smuggle imported booze, then sell it through your own speakeasies. Alongside the supply chain you manage people: favors and personal introductions open new deals, crew members need to be paid and armed, and families remember whether you helped or harassed them. Gambling dens, debt collection and police bribes add more income and more risk, while rival outfits compete for the same blocks.
A City of Gangsters CD key suits players who like production-chain tycoons with a social layer, and fans of Empire of Sin who want more business and less combat. The game is single-player and listed on the official City of Gangsters Steam page, with nine DLC packs including the Atlantic City and Shadow Government add-ons.
Prohibition-Era Setting: Start in 1920 and build your empire before Prohibition ends in 1933, which sets a hard clock on your rise.
Production Chains: Build stills, source raw materials and learn techniques to brew more expensive drinks for higher profit.
Speakeasies and Rackets: Open speakeasies, run gambling dens and squeeze debtors to diversify your income.
Favors and Connections: Social currency matters; trade favors and personal introductions to unlock new partners and suppliers.
Crew Management: Recruit, pay and arm your people. The size of your outfit limits how many fronts you can run.
Family Memory System: Families track how you treat their members, so harassment or help pays off later.
Expansion Content: Nine DLC packs on Steam, including Atlantic City, Shadow Government, Criminal Record and five outfit packs.
