Broken Roads is a deeply atmospheric, story-rich classic computer role-playing game (cRPG) developed by indie studio Drop Bear Bytes and published by tinyBuild and Versus Evil. Heavily inspired by genre giants like Fallout, Wasteland, and Disco Elysium, the game transports players to a desolated, gritty future version of the Australian Outback. Civilization has crumbled, and humanity clings to survival across red dirt wastes, decaying urban centers, and historic heritage pubs.
What sets Broken Roads apart from traditional post-apocalyptic adventures is its highly unique, core mechanic: the Moral Compass. Moving past binary "good vs. evil" dynamics, this feature aligns your choices across four distinct real-world philosophical pillars: Utilitarianism, Nihilism, Machiavellianism, and Existentialism. Your character's worldview dictates available dialogue paths, side quests, and how companions respond to your leadership. By using the Broken Roads CD key comparison engine on Cdkeycompares, you can bypass official platform retail markups and drop into the outback instantly.
The Groundbreaking Moral Compass: Shape a custom philosophical identity where your decisions shift your compass wheel, opening completely unique dialogue mechanics and story outcomes.
Authentic Australian Post-Apocalypse: Roam a visually spectacular, hand-drawn isometric wasteland built directly on real-world locations, slang, and cultural history of Western Australia.
Tactical Turn-Based Combat: Engage in high-stakes grid combat utilizing environmental cover, specialized weaponry, and strategic party positioning when diplomatic discussions break down.
Classless Character Progression: Build your ultimate survivor with complete freedom using a flexible, classless system that lets you mix and match attributes, skills, and passives to match your playstyle.
Pacifist Playthrough Capable: Navigate the brutal realities of the Outback entirely through your wits, as the rich branching narrative lets you finish the entire game without a single kill.
