AWAKEN - Astral Blade is a 2.5D action-adventure metroidvania developed by Dark Pigeon Games and published by ESDigital Games. It was released on October 22, 2024 for PC and PlayStation 5.

You play as Tania, a bionic warrior sent on a search mission for a missing investigation team. The mission soon reveals a land twisted by Karpas energy, where wildlife and plants have turned hostile.

Combat focuses on speed and timing. You chain combos, parry attacks at the right moment, use Quick Rise to get back into a fight, and dash through enemies to slow time for a short window of invulnerability and counterattacks.

Aether collected on your journey lets you improve Tania's strength, unlock combat skills, and upgrade gear. The interconnected map hides secret paths and story fragments, and key choices lead to different routes and endings. Difficulty can be lowered with helpful buffs if fights become too hard.

The game is single-player and suits fans of Hollow Knight style exploration who want faster, parry-based combat with boss fights.

Bosses test what you have learned about timing, and the corruption has turned the local wildlife into varied enemies. The map is designed to cut down on travel time, which keeps the pace steady while still leaving room for optional areas. Players can also pet cats found around the world.
