Avowed is a narrative-driven action RPG where your decisions define the fate of a frontier under siege. As an envoy of the Aedyr Empire, you must navigate a land filled with political intrigue, dangerous wildlife, and ancient secrets.
The game revitalizes the first-person RPG genre by offering a "classless" progression system, allowing players to mix and match abilities from warrior, ranger, and wizard skill trees. The environment of the Living Lands is as vertical as it is beautiful, requiring players to climb and explore every corner of its diverse biomes. Whether you are forging alliances with complex companions or uncovering the truth behind the Dream Scourge, Avowed delivers the classic Obsidian blend of deep world-building and player agency.
Classless Progression: Build your character exactly how you want—mix magic, melee weapons, and even firearms without being locked into a single class.
The Living Lands: Explore a vibrant, semi-open world ranging from sun-scorched deserts and lush forests to perilous, vertically-layered mountains.
Dynamic Combat: Seamlessly switch between dual-wielding wands, two-handed axes, or a sword-and-pistol combo to exploit enemy weaknesses.
Choice & Consequence: Navigate delicate political tensions and personal dilemmas where your dialogue and actions lead to multiple branching outcomes.
Unique Companions: Recruit a diverse cast of followers, each with their own special abilities, backstories, and questlines that change based on your leadership.
Year-One Enhancements: Includes the massive Anniversary Update features like New Game Plus, Photo Mode, and additional playable races (Aumaua and Dwarves).
