FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Maiden of Black Water is a Japanese survival horror game developed by Koei Tecmo. It is part of the long-running Fatal Frame / Project Zero franchise.

The story takes place around Mt. Hikami, a location with a dark history involving mysterious disappearances, suicides, and supernatural rituals. The mountain is closely associated with water and is believed to be a place where the boundary between the living and the dead becomes dangerously thin.

Players experience the story through multiple protagonists, including Yuri Kozukata, Ren Hojo, and Miu Hinasaki. Each character explores haunted locations while uncovering different parts of the mountain's disturbing history.

Instead of traditional firearms, the game's primary defensive tool is the Camera Obscura, a supernatural camera capable of damaging and repelling ghosts. Players must carefully aim, wait for the right moment, and photograph spirits to survive.
