Asteroids: Recharged is an arcade shooter developed by Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox and published by Atari. It released on December 14, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It also runs on Mac and Linux through Steam.

The loop stays close to the 1979 original. You pilot a small ship, rotate and thrust, and blast drifting rocks that split into smaller pieces, while UFOs hunt you down. The controls are tighter and the visuals use bright neon effects. Each wave grows faster and denser, so careful positioning and short bursts of thrust matter more than constant firing.

Shooting pink UFOs drops power-ups such as spread shots, rail guns, reflector shields, explosive asteroids, and a black hole shot that pulls in nearby enemies. Choosing when to use them is key to long runs. Power-ups only last a short time, which keeps every run tense and encourages aggressive play.

Beyond the endless arcade mode, 30 challenge levels test specific skills, with local and global leaderboards for each. Every mode supports local co-op, and the original score is by composer Megan McDuffee.

It suits score chasers, retro fans, and anyone looking for quick sessions or couch co-op with a friend. Runs last only a few minutes, so it works well as a game to pick up between longer titles, and it ships with Steam achievements and full controller support.
