Developed by Kunos Simulazioni using a brand-new, in-house engine, Assetto Corsa EVO (often referred to as ACE) is designed to be the ultimate digital tribute to automotive history. Unlike its predecessor which used Unreal Engine, the custom engine in EVO allows for hyper-realistic physics, dynamic weather, and a 24-hour time cycle. As of May 2026, the game has expanded significantly through its Early Access roadmap, recently reaching Version 0.6.2. Key additions include an ambitious open-world map based on the Nürburgring Nordschleife region and a "Driving Academy" mode where players earn licenses to unlock higher-tier vehicles. The game is an evolving platform, with Kunos consistently adding laser-scanned tracks and high-fidelity car models to create a "live" racing ecosystem.
New Proprietary Engine: Built from the ground up to support advanced tire physics, intricate mechanical damage, and photorealistic lighting.
Laser-Scanned Tracks: Includes iconic circuits like Imola, Brands Hatch, Suzuka, and Mount Panorama, all recreated with millimeter precision.
Open-World Environment: A massive 1,600 $km^2$ regional map surrounding the Nürburgring, allowing for "tourist" drives and free exploration.
Daily Racing Portal: An integrated multiplayer system featuring ranked daily races and a free server browser for community-hosted sessions.
Full VR & Triple-Screen Support: Native support for OpenXR, SteamVR, and Oculus, along with highly customizable UI for multi-monitor sim rigs.
Deep Customization: Beyond mechanical tuning, players can customize car interiors, paint materials, and individual components more deeply than in any previous Assetto Corsa title.
