Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag – Time Saver: Technology Pack is a gameplay convenience DLC that gives Edward Kenway an immediate technology advantage by removing the need to search for all 18 Upgrade Plans usually required to purchase the Jackdaw's best gameplay and cosmetic ship upgrades. Rather than searching treasure maps and exploring the Caribbean to unlock these blueprints naturally, players with this pack can access the top-tier upgrades as soon as they have the required money and resources.
This is DLC content, meaning it requires ownership of the base game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on the relevant platform to install and use. The pack's effect only becomes visible after progressing to Sequence 3, Memory 4 in the main story, at which point the plan requirement is removed from the best ship upgrades in the Jackdaw's upgrade menu. It is worth noting that this pack does not grant free upgrades outright: players must still earn or gather enough in-game currency and materials to buy and equip the unlocked upgrades.
Removes the requirement to find all 18 Upgrade Plans for high-tier ship upgrades.
Unlocks both gameplay and cosmetic Jackdaw upgrades for direct purchase.
Skips treasure map activities normally needed to progress ship upgrades.
Effect appears in the Jackdaw upgrades menu after Sequence 3, Memory 4.
Still requires in-game money and resources to buy and equip upgrades.
Purely a convenience/time-saving pack with no new story or missions.
Compatible with the Season Pass and various Black Flag special editions.
