Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag – Freedom Cry is a single-player action-adventure game set in the Assassin's Creed universe, continuing the story of Adewale, who rose from slavery to become Edward Kenway's second-in-command aboard the Jackdaw. In this campaign, Adewale is shipwrecked off the coast of what is now Haiti and, after losing his weapons and crew, becomes drawn into the Maroon slave community, ultimately leading a fight against slavers and colonial tyranny.
Buyers should be aware that Freedom Cry exists in two distinct forms. It can be purchased as a DLC expansion for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, which requires the base game and is included in the Season Pass or Gold Edition, or as a standalone game that does not require owning Black Flag at all. When comparing keys, always check which version a listing refers to, since the standalone release and the DLC pack are sold as separate products despite sharing the same story content.
