Arma 2 is an open-world military simulation and tactical first-person shooter developed and published by Bohemia Interactive.

Set in the fictional Eastern European country of Chernarus, the game places players in the role of a U.S. Marine deployed during a growing civil conflict. As tensions escalate, you'll participate in large-scale military operations involving infantry, armored vehicles, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, and special forces.

Unlike traditional shooters, Arma 2 emphasizes realism, teamwork, and tactical planning. Players must account for bullet ballistics, realistic damage, squad commands, terrain navigation, and resource management while completing diverse objectives across a vast open world spanning more than 225 km².

The game also features an extensive mission editor, modding support, cooperative gameplay, and competitive multiplayer, making it a favorite among military simulation enthusiasts. It also served as the foundation for the popular DayZ mod, which later became a standalone game. (store.steampowered.com)
