Alien: Isolation is a single-player survival horror game set in 2137, 15 years after the events of the original Alien movie. You play as Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, who travels to the abandoned Sevastopol space station to find answers about her missing mother.
Once on board, you quickly discover that a single, unkillable Xenomorph has taken over the station. There are no power fantasies here; you cannot fight the alien. Instead, the entire game is about hiding, crafting tools, using distractions, and surviving mission by mission through 19 story chapters.
What makes Alien: Isolation stand out from other horror games is its AI-driven Xenomorph. The creature actively hunts you using sight, sound, and smell, meaning no two playthroughs feel the same. It also stays true to Ridley Scott's original 1979 film in its visuals, sound design, and storytelling, making it feel less like a video game adaptation and more like a continuation of the film.
The game is widely considered one of the best survival horror games ever made, regularly praised for its atmosphere, sound design, and intelligent enemy AI. It remains highly playable in 2025 and beyond.
