AI: The Somnium Files - nirvanA Initiative is a mystery adventure game developed and published by Spike Chunsoft. It released on June 24, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It is the sequel to AI: The Somnium Files and is written by Kotaro Uchikoshi.

The case starts with half of a corpse found six years ago. The other half then turns up, completely fresh, six years later. Special agents Mizuki Date and Kuruto Ryuki, with their AI partners Aiba and Tama, investigate these Half Body killings across two timelines.

Play splits into investigation scenes, where you question witnesses and examine crime scenes, and Somnium sequences. In a Somnium you enter a suspect's dream and solve surreal puzzles under a strict time limit, with each action costing seconds.

The story branches into several routes, and you switch between characters to uncover the full plot. The game is single-player and has English and Japanese voice acting.

Investigations reward close attention. Small details you notice in one timeline often explain events in the other, and solving one route often unlocks progress in another. Comedic character moments, a staple of the series, break up the darker case work.

It suits fans of visual novels, detective stories, and puzzle-driven mysteries. Playing the first game first helps, but the sequel explains its own case.
