Age of Darkness: Final Stand is a dark fantasy survival real-time strategy game developed and published by PlaySide. After several years in early access, the full version launched on January 15, 2025 for PC.

The kingdom has been swallowed by the Veil, a living fog that hides enemies and drains the life of your troops. You gather resources, raise walls and towers, and spread light outward from your base to reclaim ground on procedurally generated maps.

Every few days a Death Night arrives and massive waves of Nightmares attack. PlaySide’s SwarmTech technology can render over 70,000 enemy units on screen at once, so solid defenses and smart unit placement matter more than speed.

Roguelite elements keep runs unpredictable. Malices add random penalties before a Death Night, while surviving one lets you pick from three Blessings that strengthen your army. Heroes and upgradable units give you more tools to hold the line.

The full release includes a story Campaign, a Survival mode, and online co-operative multiplayer. It suits players who enjoy base defense, tower placement, and tense survival strategy in the style of colony and horde games.

Which version should you buy?

• PC: Keys activate on Steam. The game is available only on Windows PC and needs a 64-bit Windows 10 system with 16 GB of RAM.

• Early access vs full release: Every current key unlocks the full 1.0 release with Campaign, Survival, and co-op modes.

• Online play: Co-op needs an internet connection, and the developer recommends 8 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload speeds.
