Ad Infinitum is a first-person psychological horror game developed by German studio Hekate and published by Nacon. It released in September 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. You play a German soldier haunted by the Great War who wakes up in his childhood bedroom inside a decaying family manor, only to be pulled back into the trenches again and again, unable to tell memory from nightmare.
The game alternates between the manor and the front line. In the house, you explore rooms, read letters and piece together the story of a family torn apart by the war. In the trenches and No Man's Land, you face creatures shaped by the soldier's trauma, such as blind demons that react to sound and disjointed puppets that move in the dark. There is no traditional combat focus: you survive by learning each monster's behavior, using stealth and solving environmental puzzles that unlock the way forward.
Ad Infinitum suits players who prefer story-led, atmospheric horror in the style of Layers of Fear, with a rare First World War setting. Grabbing an Ad Infinitum CD key through a price comparison is the cheapest way to play it. Visit the official Ad Infinitum website for trailers and background.
