Absolum is an action-packed 2D roguelite beat 'em up developed by Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, and published by Dotemu. Set in the original, fantasy world of Talamh, the game puts you in the shoes of a group of outcasts wielding forbidden magic to overthrow the oppressive regime of the Sun King Azra.
The game combines traditional side-scrolling arcade combat with branching paths and modern roguelike elements. Players can select one of four unique characters and use rapid combos, magical Arcana attacks, and passive "Rituals" to tailor each run. It features a lush, hand-drawn art style and a stunning soundtrack composed by Gareth Coker, with collaborations from Yuka Kitamura and Mick Gordon.
Four Playable Characters: Choose between Galandra (the elven swordswoman), Karl (the dwarf with a blunderbuss and brawler mechanics), Cider (an acrobatic mechanical skirmisher), and Brome (a hovering humanoid frog wizard).
Deep Combat System: Master a mix of basic attacks, dodges, and special defensive mechanics like Deflect and Clash to break through enemy ranks.
Roguelite Progression: Discover unpredictable encounters on each run, and empower your attacks with random passive abilities known as Rituals.
Cooperative Gameplay: Fight solo or invite a friend to play with local and online co-op modes.
Epic Soundtrack: Immerse yourself in beautifully crafted, hand-drawn environments accompanied by an award-winning orchestral score.
